Jim Rettela

Secretary/Treasurer
Jim joined OCWOA in 2018. He begins his ninth officiating year in his new role as Sec/Tres and looks forward to continuing development of newer/younger OCWOA officials.

Don Valdez

Instructional Chair
Don wrestled in both middle school and high school to 1989, then coached until 1996. He took a step back from wrestling but came back and began officiating in 2010.

Don joined OCWOA for the 2017/18 season and is currently in his first year as Instructional Chair. He is looking forward to passing on his knowledge and love for the sport to all who strive to become better officials. Don has worked many high-level tournaments and has been selected to officiate his 4th straight CIF State Championship.

Steve Azizi

Assigner
Steven was pinned 38 times in the very first period and never left the mat with his hand raised, but his persistence to improve, earned him a spot to Masters his Junior year. Four years of high school wrestling and he met his now wife “stat girl” at an away tournament. He firmly believes everything he has today is because of wrestling, which is why he’s spent three years coaching and training his sons to also fall in love with the greatest sport known to man.

Steve joined OCWOA in 2018/2019 and quickly earned the respect of his peers to now serve as the Assigner.

Dejan Savich

Ratings Chair
Dejan joined OCWOA in 2013. Dejan had wrestled in high school and college. Dejan has a passion for learning and enjoys teaching, and with that in mind, he is ecstatic to be the ratings chair for OCWOA. He cannot wait to work with the association’s referees to maintain the association’s top tier standards.
